Dr. Sheila has over 20 years’ experience as Nutrition specialist with UNICEF and extensive working and senior consultancy experiences with GoI, State Governments, national institutes & international agencies in formulation of national and state level policies & action plans for malnutrition; development & execution of strategies for advocacy, communication & training. She held the secretary position of the Nutrition Society of Bharat. Awarded Srikantia Memorial Lecture Award 2013 by the Nutrition Society of Bharat and recipient of Kamala Puri Sabharwal Memorial Lecture award 2015. Dr Vir has published over 100 articles in journals and books. She is also the editor of the recently published second edition of the book “Public Health Nutrition in Developing Countries”.

She brings her vast experience in rural development, Dr. Metre, is inspired by pujya Swami Chinmayananda, a renowned spiritual teacher. She started working in rural development with his grace in 1985 in Himachal Pradesh, now a national trust called CORD. She serves CORD as its National Director. CORD today works in six states of Bharat. It has trained more than 45,000 bankers, Govt functionaries, NGOs on formation and nurturing of SHGs (self-help group) with the support from NABARD.
